All-On-4 (Full Arch Dental Implant Replacement)
When a full arch of your teeth is diseased beyond repair or if you are already missing an entire arch of teeth, the historical way to treat this was to have removable dentures fabricated. However, removable dentures can be very difficult to tolerate and make it very tricky to eat and speak normally or feel comfortable with your smile.
There is now a time tested and proven concept to replace an entire arch of teeth with only 4 dental implants. This treatment concept and protocol is know as The All-on-4 Full Arch Rehabilitation.
This treatment involves the removal of all remaining teeth in the dental arch, recountouring of the residual tooth bearing bone, placement of 4 (or possibly 6 in select situations) dental implants, and (if possible) immediate fixation and loading of a temporary prosthesis to the dental implants. The final result of this treatment is a full arch of natural looking and sturdy teeth supported by the underlying dental implants.
The surgery and loading of the prosthesis can typically be completed in a single day in conjunction with your existing dentist and/or a dental lab technician. If you do not currently have an existing dentist, we will be able to provide you with a referral and coordinate care with one of our many trusted colleagues.
After successful placement of the implants and the temporary prosthesis, we will typically allow for several months of healing for the implants to properly incorporate and heal within your jaw bone. Once success of the implants is ensured, the dentist will then fabricate a final long term prosthesis that will restore your eating, speaking, and overall function and renew the confidence in your smile for many years to come.
You may have seen this type of treatment advertised on TV or the internet as “Teeth In An Hour” or “Teeth In A Day.” This can be misleading, as every patient’s case is individualized and must be treatment planned and executed with great care and thought. As we like to say, “Teeth In An Hour” might not still be there in 10 years. Drs. Mynsberge and Ruggles focus is to provide you with the most ideal long term result and they will be sure to give you an excellent level of case planning and coordination, surgical expertise, and lifetime follow-up care that you might not find elsewhere.
If you are in need of this comprehensive, but life-changing treatment, Drs. Mynsberge and Ruggles would greatly look forward to the opportunity to meet you and discuss your care in detail!
